/, TRAVEL BOUTIQUE, Tuscany, Umbria/UMBRIA, TUSCANY AND ROME GOURMET TOUR

Umbria and Tuscany are, without a doubt, two of Italy’s most beautiful regions. Both the regions are famed for their rolling hills and vineyards, medieval hill towns and fantastic food. Last by not least Rome, the eternal city where modern and old, past and present, go side by side, all the time.

DAY 1: Arrival at Rome Airport. Transfer to Perugia and check in at Hotel San Clement Relais.

A lovely place to stay in a business area, 7 km away from Arco Etrusco. Operating in Perugia since 1990, this hotel features historical architecture and modern comforts. The hotel has an ancient park, 50.000 square meters, with two swimming pools.

DAY 2: After breakfast, enjoy an escorted tour of Perugia, a wonderful city steeped in history. It dates back to the Etruscan period and is a well-known artistic centre of Italy. Home of beautiful churches like the Cathedral and S. Lorenzo or the Basilica of the Domenician Order, Medieval fountains, Etruscan arches and ancient viaducts. Enjoy lunch in a typical restaurant in the centre of the city, in the afternoon leisure time. Dinner free.

DAY 3: After breakfast, visit of the city of Montefalco where, from the top of its walls, the view expands across the entire fertile Umbrian Valley. Continue the tour at a famous winery producing Sagrantino di appreciated by connoisseurs. Florence is famous for its wealth of fine art and architecture and was long ruled by the Medici family. Monuments and art sites not to be missed are the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia Gallery, the Palazzo Vecchio, the Duomo, the Giotto belltower, the St. John’s Baptistery, Santa Maria Novella, Santa Croce. Just to mention few, but ht elist can grow longer because each part of Florence and each street contains an art treasure. Dinner in a typical trattoria.

Looking around the Piazza del Duomo, or Campo dei Miracoli (Field of Miracles) you will find typical examples of Romanesque buildings and the classic Pisan style of architecture. We suggest you also visit the Duomo, begun in 1063 and clearly articulated and richly decorated using white marble.
